Blurring of vision is recognized as an early sign of cataract. As cataracts develop, the natural lens of the eye becomes clouded, which impacts the clarity of the images that the retina receives. This clouding leads to a gradual loss of transparency in the lens, resulting in blurred or hazy vision. Patients may notice that their vision is not as sharp as it once was, or they may find it increasingly difficult to see fine details clearly.

Other symptoms associated with cataracts may develop as the condition progresses, but blurring of vision is one of the most common initial indicators that point to the onset of cataract formation. Eventually, if left untreated, cataracts can lead to more severe vision impairment.
